Story: Meritage is an international term for a Bordeaux blend. The GMH Meritage is a blend of four of the red varieties grown in the Bordeaux region of France. The 2021 vintage consists of 60% Petit Verdot, and 20% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Malbec.
Vintage: 2021 will be one for the record books in more than one way but as far as vineyards across South Australia are concerned it was near perfect. Higher than average rainfall over winter allowed vines to produce good canopy and the cool – dry summer gave us beautiful even ripening conditions. This slow ripening allows great flavour development and retention of natural acidity.
Nose: The nose offers delicate aromas of violets, plums and black cherries.
Palate:The palate is beautifully complex with notes of black cherries, dark chocolate and subtle wild berries, followed by a lengthy finish.
Food Pairings: This is a very versatile food wine that will go particularly well with Mediterranean dishes.
