2019 Hand Crafted Petit Verdot

Hand Crafted

Limestone Coast

Story: Petit Verdot, a robust red wine varietal originating in the prestigious Bordeaux region of southwestern France, commands attention with its full-bodied character and distinctive flavour profile.
Its deep crimson hue and bold tannins reflect the rugged terroir of its birthplace, where it thrives under the warm sun and maritime influences. This grape variety, once considered a mere blending component, has now earned recognition as a standalone wine, captivating connoisseurs with its intense aromas of dark fruits and hints of spice, while embodying the essence of Bordeaux winemaking tradition.

Vintage:  The 2019 growing season started slowly, but warmer weather eventually helped to speed things up. Fruit set throughout the region was good and the low rainfall and warm weather from January to April resulted in great sugar development, while a cooler than average March offered ideal night temperatures for colour and flavour development

Nose: The Petit Verdot delights the senses with aromas of plum, chocolate, and sage, creating a captivating bouquet.

Palate:On the palate, it presents as fuller-bodied with generous tannins, providing structure and depth to the wine.

Food Pairings: This is the perfect partner for bold flavours, making it an excellent match for BBQ lamb served with roast potatoes and baba ghanoush.
The wine's robust character complements the rich and savory elements of the dish, resulting in a satisfying and harmonious pairing.
