2021 K1 Reserve Chardonnay

Story: K1 Reserve Chardonnay highlights the very best fruit from our Kuitpo vineyards cool growing conditions and terroir. The fruit is gently handled to ensure aromatics are retained before fermentation in French oak barriques. Each barrel is allowed to tell its own story, some completing malolactic fermentation, others holding a bright freshness that will have you salivating. The wine's seductive texture and mouthfeel add to the overall enjoyment of this well-balanced Chardonnay that just keeps giving.

Vintage: 2021 will be one for the record books in more than one way but as far as vineyards across South Australia are concerned it was near perfect. Higher than average rainfall over winter allowed vines to produce good canopy and the cool – dry summer gave us beautiful even ripening conditions. This slow ripening allows great flavour development and retention of natural acidity.

Nose: Pulls you in with fragrant notes of apple, grapefruit, lemon blossom and almonds.

Palate: On the palate, it offers a delightful blend of lemon curd and pink grapefruit flavors, enriched by hints of spice, toast, and roasted hazelnuts.

Pairing: Enjoy this Chardonnay with a mushroom and sage butter gnocchi.
