2021 GMH Shiraz

GMH

South Australia

Story: Shiraz is synonymous with Australia and is grown in most regions from the warmest regions where it produces full-bodied, ripe and plummy wines, to cool regions where a spicy, peppery, medium-bodied wine is the result.

Vintage: 2021 will be one for the record books in more than one way but as far as vineyards across South Australia are concerned it was near perfect. Higher than average rainfall over winter allowed vines to produce good canopy and the cool – dry summer gave us beautiful even ripening conditions. This slow ripening allows great flavour development and retention of natural acidity.

Nose: The 2021 Shiraz entices with aromas of blackberry, dark plum and hints of coffee, promising a rich and flavourful experience.

Palate: On the palate, it draws you in with a medley of dark berries, cherry, and hints of chocolate, adding layers of complexity to this robust Shiraz.

Food Pairings: This bold Shiraz pairs beautifully with a slow-roasted rack of lamb served with a blackberry and coffee-infused jus. The wine's rich fruit flavours and hints of tobacco and coffee complement the savory, tender lamb, while the blackberry jus adds
a touch of sweetness and depth to the dish, creating a memorable dining experience.
