2019 Red Label Shiraz

Red Label

Adelaide Hills

Story: Traditional crafting techniques with a modern twist, newly released Red Label represents wines made from the hero varietals from the most premium regions across South Australia.

Vintage: The 2019 growing season started with mild weather and below-average rainfall. Some late spring rain provided a bit of relief from the dry conditions. A heatwave in January was luckily too early in the ripening cycle to cause any damage to the fruit. This was followed by a very mild and dry finish to the vintage, allowing good hang time and flavour development to the smaller than average crop.

Nose: Fresh & charming, this wine shows red fruits, vanilla bean, rose petal and fresh herbs on the nose.

Palate: Medium bodied with vibrant red fruits and spices. Powdery tannins frame the juicy fruit and drives the wine through to a full, long finish.

Food Pairings: Ginger braised pork belly with bok choy and pickled carrots.

Oak Maturation: 30% new French oak for 18 months.

Cellaring: Drink now or to 2029
